Sorry.........never been to Zurich or Lausanne.

In my opinion, you should focus on these things that make Switzerland, Switzerland. The big cities just don't seem to fit into that picture.

We'll be in Switzerland this October.............3 nights in Lauternbrunnen and 4 nights on Lake Maggiore. To me that is "Switzerland"............but everyone has their own opinion.

You'll love Zermatt. Check out the Swiss Chalet restaurant...........awesome Fondue. You should also check out Zum See, which is a little "town" on the slopes just outside Zermatt.
