I'm not an XP2 user (went digital a while back) but my past experience with film is that there is little difference between 35 and 120 film. There is no difference is the film itself, it is just that when you severely over-expose film, you can get some diffraction (for lack of a better term) issues on the edges of bright spots that react differently depending on film size.
