Unfortunately we usualy issue the ticket if the flight is 21-22 days from now , or if it is in a next few days. If that's not the case we would extend the hold on the reservation for another 48hours , and then again , until the miles will be in the account.

Thanks, in my case, the flights were still several months away but I had waited over 10 days and the points hadn't posted, so maybe the agent took pity on me
In any case, I believe DL can and will work it out one way or another.
