Back when KLM was a partner I did this trip--
GEG-LAX-AMS-Capetown and returned two weeks later, this was in January 2002. AS medal to LAX.
When KLM is back as a partner we should have another option for this trip to South Africa using AS ff Miles--business class only, but a very nice trip upstairs on a 747.
