Star Alliance Miles from Thai to my United Account
Looking for some recommendations on how to get my miles from a Thai flight posted to my United account. When I checked in at BKK I gave the agent my United number and asked to please post the miles to this account. When I had not scene the miles come in I looked up my Thai account and there they were. Yes I have a Thai number so I can make reservations on the web and I love the JFK – BKK flight option.
United wants the 13 digit ticket number in order to help me out, understandable. Upon looking over the E-Paperwork from Thai there is no ticket number issued, I have since learned you have to use the Checkmytrip.com in order to get this information. I contacted Thai and asked they please remove the miles and post them to United or please provide me with the ticket number.
Response below:
Dear Mr. "ME"
We regret for the late reply to your mail.
We would like to inform you, however, there is no Star Alliance loyalty
programme common to all the member airlines. Instead, there are 15
separate loyalty programs, all operated independently.
Once you have earned miles on one programme, you are not able to
transfer that balance to another programme within the alliance.
Under these circumstances, we regret that the following flights can
neither be deleted or transferred to your United Airlines
FFP account at this point.
07-06-13 AIR TG 675 PEK BKK
07-06-11 AIR TG 614 BKK PEK

So what now? Am I just stuck with miles in an account I will never use or do I have any additional options?
No offence to anyone but when this happened multiple times flying Star Alliance a simple email corrected the problem immediately, I expected the same with Star Alliance.
