Just made the r/t from LA to BKK on Thai non-stop. Premium Economy on the way there and upgrade with miles to Royal Silk on the way back. If you are using miles or get a free upgrade, the Royal Silk is fine, othewise book Premium Economy. Its almost as nice for 1/3 the price. The FA's were friendly and attentive in both classes for me.
