So ... they did. Me, EXP spouse, and several other AA elites who were on the same cancelled flight. A total of over 50 passengers.
According to America West's (okay okay, US Air's) computer system, we're all terrorists. Every last one of us is a full-fare, walk-up, last-minute, one-way ticket. Therefore .... more than 50 SSSS's that morning.
Tell me ... does that make any sense at all, to treat top-tier passengers from another airline like dirt, just because a flight was cancelled? Is there any rightness whatsoever to this process?
Where' the sanity? Who's gonna be the first employee to step up and say "I refuse to participate in this malarkey ... Stop The Madness!"?
I dont know what US Airs policy is, but with AA if you bring your original OA boarding passes with you ( if you are being rebooked to AA by another airline )that prove you were not a selectee on your original flight then the agent can exempt you from the SSSS but it has to be done before you check in.
