While I dont disagree with your stance against the system, asking the agent to do something that will in all likeyhood get them fired is just wrong.
Only one of the numerous lists used is an AA list, the others are operated by different government agencies and deselcting someone that the FBI , ICE or anyone else wants to talk to can put a lot of people at risk.
Agents know they are not supposed to deselect anyone, if they are then AA need to know about it.
Well for sure SAT is not one of the stations who will deselect someone.
First flight of the morning cancelled. All remaining flights sold out for the rest of the day. Earliest they can get us out is the next evening. That's not acceptable. Please put us on another airline ... we absolutely hafta be there today.
So ... they did. Me, EXP spouse, and several other AA elites who were on the same cancelled flight. A total of over 50 passengers.
According to America West's (okay okay, US Air's) computer system, we're all terrorists. Every last one of us is a full-fare, walk-up, last-minute, one-way ticket. Therefore .... more than 50 SSSS's that morning.
Tell me ... does that make any sense at all, to treat top-tier passengers from another airline like dirt, just because a flight was cancelled? Is there any rightness whatsoever to this process?
Where' the sanity? Who's gonna be the first employee to step up and say "I refuse to participate in this malarkey ... Stop The Madness!"?
