They have to be seeing something. I am waiting at LAX for AS 6 to take off to DCA. We were 40 minutes late due to an FA being late, then delayed for another hour on the tarmac by ATC as the figured we needed to fly to Houston to avoid storms running all the way across the country (adding 1 hour to the estimated flight time), which meant we needed more fuel - so back to the gate - which meant a delay that put the crew over limit. So everyone was let off the plane and we are now scheduled for a 5:30 departure (almost 5 hours late).

It is a shame our FA was late. The 12:40 PM UA flight LAX-IAD (same original departure time as my AS flight to DCA) got off only 20 minutes late and current status is arrival to IAD only 40 minutes late. Whereas UA's 4:00 was cancelled (assuming due to the "storms").
