Holiday Inn credit card scam.
I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Middlesborough (UK). I wanted to stay the whole week, but they had no availabilty on the Wednesday night so I stayed at the HIEX at York (at considerable inconvenience) and returned to the HIEX Middlesborough on the Thursday night.
When I got my credit card ststement, the hotel in Middlesborough had charged me for the Wednesday night. I called them to query and was told that I must have accidently made the booking by phone or internet and unless I could prove that I didn't, then I can't have my money back.
As you can imagine, I'm a bit pi**ed off about this. I called my credit card company and they told me that as I have my credit card on file with Priority Club, then I have to sort it out with them.
Can anyone suggest where I go from here. I'm not sure how I can prove that I didn't make the booking.
