There's also the restroom issue. JAL's FAs keep the restrooms immaculate, and there are three bottles of lotions and potions in each.

Alcohol choices are much better aboard JAL.

I agree about the snacks. On AA it's as if somebody raided a vending machine. On JAL you can actually get some hot food as a "snack" at any time. AA does have a choice or two for a fuller snack, but the FAs aren't thrilled to serve it and it isn't as good.

You didn't mention the Bose headsets in business class. AA has a slight advantage there.

I have to disagree about the warm nuts because of JAL's dried natto. The nuts I can find in many stores, but that dried natto is impossible to find (except for JAL's own mail order).
I like AA new duvets, though the JL cardigans were nice. AA has the Bose, which is nice, but since we bring our own, it's not a big deal for us. JL did have some kind of upgraded Panasonic? headphones on the ORD-NRT leg, but they weren't great.

Yes - restroom situation, in terms of cleanliness and amenities, is much better on JL.

In terms of FAs on JL, as passengers woke up at varying times (before turning on the lights for the 2nd service), everyone would ring their call buttons and ask for various snacks/udon/ramen, etc...and it was never a problem. On a minor note, thought that the rice served on JL was excellent...
