I am sorry Soc, but as you have probably surmised by now, that is not the case. Nor has it been to the best of my recollection of most recent years.
If any Platinum member cares to check it out for themselves, please feel free to go to this
JW Marriott Orlando link and check availability for 11 months out (June 2008). Since they don't load their inventory until 10 months out, the only rooms available are Platinum overrides.
Result: No notifications of any kind during the booking process that the Platinum override is being used.
FWIW, over the past 3 years I have booked all my reservations, prior to logging in, via the TA portal. If no availability comes up for a hotel I want, I then sign in and book a Plat Guarantee reservation. In all of those cases, TTBOMK there have never been any kind of notifications in the reservation process (after signing in) that I am invoking a Platinum Guarantee. So if the web site did, at one time have some type of notification, it has been gone for at least the last 3 years.
