I flew PHL-LGW end of June. Yep, saw ye old garlic steak, but I tried the boneless pork chops with chipotle sauce that I don't remember seeing before and it was OK. Perhaps they are bringing in a few newies at a time? Dessert was no longer the fruit, cheese and mystery bonbon thing; no more bonbon, it was something creamy (and tasty!) that was served in a plastic sheath that I wondered if the FA was supposed to remove before serving. Breakfast was certainly different, no bowl of nasty bitter "fresh" fruit with a wizened croissant. It was a big bowl of thick white SWEET yogurt, with a cup of granola and a cup of fresh fruit to put in it. Very refreshing. There was still a wee wizened croissant wannabee, but all in all a nice change. I would love to find that yogurt if anyone knows what it is.

BUT

We started to board on time, when after 2 or 3 passengers the GA at the separate from the gate counter PA'd over to stop the boarding. The flight board changed from on-time to delayed. We were told it would be about 15 minutes and boarding would restart. the flight departed 3 hours later with virtually NO further status communications from the gate, other than "its mechanical, maintenance is on board, I never ask what is wrong because I wouldn't understand anyway" from a GA to a Chairman. Even the Club ladies couldn't get the status. Yes, some of us gave up and returned to the Club, to find the food supply was wiped out from the heavy usage due to weather delays and cancellations.

So, the change in on board food hardly twitched the needle on the improved-o-meter.
