Warning: Rant Below...
Just curious if anyone has seen any of the
supposed in-flight enhancements, because I sure haven't...
PHL-LGW, food the same (garlic steak entree not very good), still using plasticware (I swear I used to get real silverware in Envoy back in 2006), no improvement in drinks. Flight was 2 hours delayed departing, resulting in an extremely long line for LGW immigration. Arrivals lounge nearly empty, and nice as always (plus they've got a newer LCD TV).
DUB-PHL, food the same (but beef was excellent), again with the plasticware, dessert essentially the same (now with two small cake-like things instead of one big sugar-ball), still serving the evil pizza-in-a-box. IFE on the 752 is good, and the in-seat AC is a very nice feature. They even had ice cream, which I thought the 4 US 752's couldn't handle due to lack of chiller space. None of that makes up for a three hour departure delay and a 40 minute arrival delay, though.
Why the hell can't we get silverware on international business class flights? What am I missing? I had it ex-MUC twice in the last six months or so. Why are LGW and DUB different? There's just something terribly tacky about trying to cut a steak with a plastic fork and knife in a seat that sells for $3000-$7000.
Glassware on domestic flights is hit or miss, and I can honestly say I've not seen silverware in the last two years in F.
Having sat through coach courtesy of a US screwup, I know they haven't done anything to improve BOB offerings and are not offering any different wines. In fairness, they at least had enough BOB for the whole plane this time, instead of the usual "sorry, but we're out of BOB" announcement at row 13.
And the "improved customer service training" must not yet have started, because after a complete fiasco last Saturday, the only response I got from a customer service employee in PHL was, "you're a chairman's, you should be used to these kinds of problems". If that's the response Tempe had in mind, congrats. Otherwise, it appears some more training is needed.
Sorry for the rant, just curious if anyone has seen any actual improvements (other than the new F salad and four points pie, both of which I've found to be nice)?
