I've never seen a FA on ANY US based carrier clean a bathroom. If there is a major problem they have been alerted to they might try to do something. However, airlines like SQ and JL have very specific protocol on cleaning bathrooms from F to Y. It usually involves a change to uniform (i.e. the bathroom cleaning apron) and little cleaning caddy. There's nothing to that level at NW (and most likely any other US carrier.)
