You can use any type of headset you have, but without the adapter you will only get sound out of one side. I am old school and still comp drinks and headsets with extensive delays; guess I've been lucky that I've never been called on the carpet about it. I just write PR on the explanation line. I've also seen several agents that will give us a voucher no questions asked. If a f/a has been in trouble with this issue in the past then I don't blame them for not doing it again, I'm sure my day will come.
