Over the past couple of months I've booked Aeroplan rewards to visit the family in the Maritimes this summer and again at Christmas. Plugging in the itins to AC.com, T fares come in at a bargain $680.82RT! Of course, one can purchase T+ fares at ~$800 for added flexibility and 1,000 status miles! And let's not forget that flights are operated using "state of the art" DH1/3 with the odd BEH thrown in for good measure

I'm not anti-AC nor am I a Maritimer apologist but these prices do seem excessive, especially given the price-sensitivity of Maritimers.

On the positive side, it makes $90 + 15,000 aeropesos seem like a bargain! Thankfully, the parents live equi-distant between YQM, YSJ and YFC which makes it easier to book Classic flights utilizing the open jaws feature...when it works, of course

BTW, flights are YUL-YSJ/YFC-YUL and YUL-YFC/YSJ-YUL. Last Christmas I enjoyed a ~2 hour flight YUL-YQM on a BEH ...which made the return journey on a CRJ seem luxurious!
