My family and I (2 kids, 2 dults , one infant) are to fly LHR-LAX with UA (777-200) and LAX-MUN with LH (A340-300).

We have pre assigned seats 37HJ and 38HJ. I did call UA and requested a baby bassinet and the computer granted me this. However, the seats didnīt chage.

So, I have called UA twice and received different answers.

first time: there are some special bassinets that you can use without a wall. Instead you are supposed to use the seat infron of you in some way.....YEAH RIGHT!!!

Second time: You will be assigned at the time of check in.
(Q) if I am granted a bassinet, why not assign us the seats next to it? (A) You WILL get a bassinet, I can not tell you where and how. Please check at the time of check in.

So what do you frequent UA travellers think? Should I give them another call or is this a fact that assignments for travellers with request for crib are done closer to departure date.
