Apropos of nothing, I flew FRA-GIG on Varig in its dying months last year. It was an overnight flight and we were tucked up in the F suite on an ex-UA 777. We made a tech stop in Recife - which we only discovered when we woke up and discovered we were on the ground...cabin crew hadn't even bothered to wake the six pax prior to landing
