Simple. Fly MAN-ORD on BD then ORD-MEM on UA. this way you wouldn't need to waste a voucher outbound as you'd automatically be upgraded to PE as a BD gold making a redemption booking. You also guarantee a seat in PE this way.

I'd take the same route back as well.

If you prefer LHR and you are flying after March then you could fly BD from LHR depending on where they end up flying to. Otherwise its the usual suspects to choose from i.e. UA and UA and neither is as good as BD.
