If you had booked on JAL, they would have put you up at the Hotel Nikko for free. I'd call QF, talk to a booking agent.

If you have no luck getting a room for free, try the Holiday Inn Narita. Rooms start at about 10000 yen plus 15% tax, which comes to $108 AU.
