Can you enlighten us as to what you need to do when you're online to use an e-credit for someone else's ticket?
Remember that it needs to be the residual value of a ticket that has already been reticketed for the original passenger.
Here's how to use such a credit.
When booking a ticket on delta.com, when you get to Step 3 (Enter Info), check the "Use eCredits for payment" box. You will also have to enter a credit card number, even if your eCredits are greater than the ticket price.
On the next page, enter the eCredit number and the name of the passenger. If the eCredit is found, you are then able to credit it toward the price of the ticket.
Note that if you are buying tickets for more than one passenger, you will have an intermediate step where you have to select the passenger for whom you want to credit to go to.
By the way, I could be wrong in my other post, it's possible that the number I wrote down wasn't the "original" ticket number, rather it was an eCredit number that I was given after I rebooked the original ticket. I'm not sure.
