I'm checking out tomorrow. Here's my take on the original pos/neg list. Some I was unable to verify as I was out winning at poker (woohoo!)...
Positives:
- Check in was easy and speedy. No need to ask for or remind re Plat perks (upgrade + gift) - only a lowly Silver; no "gift" other than the chocolate olive...things...they present at check-in that unfortunately resemble eyeballs.
- Executive floors are 14th and 15th, with club lounge on 15th. - Still true.
- Lounge opens for breakfast, hors d'oeuvres and dessert. Accessable 24/7 for water & solda. - Unable to verify.
- Parking in garage - and free. There is a guard gate, which I assume they might use during heavy use of the adjacent Las Vegas Convention Center, checking room keys, but I doubt they ever charge.
- Gym is well equipped. Plenty of water and towels avail. Opens 24/7 - unable to verigy.
- HSIA, free in-room internet access via wire (cable provided) - Now $12.95 a day and cantankerous with my Outlook - not downloading all emails correctly. Could also not log into PokerStars, dangit.

It's definitely something with the Ren's internet, as I was able to download all my email just fine once I got to McCarran's free wireless. Web at the Ren seems to work fine. Cable is provided, about 6 foot length. Wired only in rooms; wireless in lobby and the infomal E-Go cafe/coffee bar.
- Better than average bath room - with separate bath tub and shower area - but the toilet is not in a separate water closet and the sink area is not outside a door, so couples can have issues sharing the bathroom in the mornings.
- Services - When making a telephone call with cordless phone, operator detected static interference. She ordered service call. Service man arrived in 6 minutes. Took care of problem. Late that evening, front desk called to see if problem had be resolved! - No service issues during my stay.
Negatives:
- Walls are not very well sound-proofed. Next door's TV sound can be heard by us. No biggie cause it was during the day. - I did not hear any TV but definitely heard a gaggle of women next door screaming hysterically about things that, well, women scream hysterically about.
- Lounge got crowded at breakfast. Some kids on weekends. Fresh fruits and cereal items were good. But I found the danish was below par in freshness. - Unable to verify.
- Starbucks coffee does not taste like the real thing - Unable to verify; I haven't had coffee since 1982. Ick. The E-Go informal coffee bar has Starbucks, panninis, gelato, etc.
Overall impression was favorable. Would stay here again because we like the fact it has no casino on site. Nice, quiet and smoke free! - All true; the $12.95 HSIA fee places it more on a par with other Strip hotels IMHO, but if NO casino is your thing, the Renaissance handles that nicely.
