NAmerica is a different environment completely. As for adding $10, most people want cheap seats and only complained about airline meals when they got them "free" anyhow. If you can't manage 5 hours max on a flight without a meal then you're really in trouble. With all the food stands at airports selling prepackaged carry-on items, what's to complain about. There was no demand for the hot stuff, so it's been taken off the menu. Most people have little or no taste when it comes to food, so they'll appreciate the pizza. And it seems those complaining are the ones who are flying on passes or SEs and should easily be able to get into the front cabin any time they want.

I realize we all can't spend a half-hour in the MLL before all our flights, but AC have improved the food available in the lounges for just this reason...so its regular customers who have to sit in the back have a chance to have some healthy soup and salad before flying, and don't have to rely on the inflight BoB. Compare the offerings in the MLLs to any other business class lounges (save the odd international ones) and they will wipe the competition for catering and drinks. Better AC takes care of its best customers than squanders the same money on fliers who will never appreciate the quality.
