i don't think there was any reverting going on...i remember checking flights using the KVS tool back when they announced the LAX-TPE-SIN flight getting the 77W and saw that the 77W was only being used on certain days of the week, with the 772 being used for the other days. i also noticed it changed based on the time of year, with increased use of the 77W at certain times of the year.
i'm sure as they add more 77W's to the fleet the frequency will increase on the LAX route...at least i hope!
