By policy, it is supposed to be by check-out the following day; however, I have noticed that a lot of night auditors seem to have twitchy fingers around the midnight hour, so whatever you decide to do, I would go the extra steps to ensure that they know you want to check in early and that is why you reserved the extra night...to ensure that you can.
