Not sure of the hotels as I've never stayed at any of your choices, but I would seriously look at flying to LAX (or another so cal airport) and driving into Palm Springs.

Price it out both ways - flying directly into PSP and flying into LAX, SNA, ONT or SAN and then driving to Palm Springs.

It's generally cheaper to drive, but it is possible that you might get a deal as most people tend to avoid the desert in the summer.
