The current system has no blackout dates, meaning no dates that by definition have no availability, but on many routes they don't offer award seats from the beginning on the old blackout dates around holiday periods.

The recent DING promotion offered awards where there were blackout dates, when no awards were offered, but on other dates there were no limits on award availability other than a sold-out flight.
