Thanks for all these good responses/advice. My hair is already pretty short, and I was planning on getting it cut the week before the trip, so it will be newly short on the trip. Fairly low maintenance there, but a little drying just makes it look a bit nicer. My makeup routine is pretty simple. Just some mascara and the Clinique product "Almost Makeup". I think I'll go with the advice to try to put on just a bit of mascara during a stop. I can't imagine women who put on makeup while driving to work! I just don't get it. We have booked the bedroom unit, so we will have a shower and toilet in the room. However, very very small! Any other bits of advice are appreciated. This is my first train trip and I'm excited about this new experience! I hope I don't love it too much and decide to replace my air travel with rail travel.
