Though to be serious for a minute, doesn't this 'must be invited' question come up quite a lot for promos? I've thought for some time that it's a standard boilerplate T&C but that if you can actually register, you're in basically - if you can't register (which is the norm for me in recent promos posted here for things like wine, etc.) it tells you you're not eligible there and then.
Edit: I have some vague recollection of the last shameless EU miles bonanza, sorry, EU promo where it listed eligible countries in the T&C and even of those only a subset of people seemed to get invited, but lots of people could register and the bonus posted OK? Hazy memory on the finer details since it definitely didn't apply to me!
