These have been in operation in TUL, DAL, and AUS for about two weeks now. (At least on the dates I've flown). Seems to slow down the boarding process actually, but I'm sure it makes their post-departure paperwork easier somehow. Would be nice if there were two per gate, but i'm sure that's way too pricey.</font>
Been in use at BNA for over a month as it was a month between my last two BNA trips. The first trip I also thought they were slowing down the boarding process. My second trip, just a few days ago, the agents had it down to a science and I don't think it was slowing down the flight.
One thing I did notice, on both my flights, no one needed to use the gate counter agent. Everyone had boarding cards in hand or used the kiosk. Wonder if opening the counter 1 hour before the flight is still a good use of resources. Maybe they can lump a few counters together?
