Likewise, we have a loyalty to QF from a similar OP-UP (SFO-SYD J to F). I think the op-up had been determined prior to check-in as the agent tore up several BPs which had printed "in error". It was only in the lounge 30 min before departure that were called to the desk and given new BPs. I assume we were only told at the last moment in case a paying customer for a F seat happened to pass by.
