Where can I find the '1 direction rule'? I couldn't find it in the EXP membership guide.

If the fare is sold as a return then it can still be argued that it's only 1 direction. If I fly MAN-ORD-JFK only 1 VIP is required but the last segment is in the opposite direction from the first.
