I don't know why Kettering QC has pooh-poohed the idea of a conspiracy. In the light of the car bomb attempts in London, it seems likely to me that the Glasgow attack is part of a conspiracy to cause harm to people in Britain.
As for the idea that such a conspiracy should be trying to influence Gordon Brown. Well, there has been plenty of warning that Tony Blair would hand over to Gordon, so I think there's a strong possibility that the timing of the attacks was planned in an attempt to influence Gordon Brown in his first days as PM.
