I was in a similar situation at PDX a few weeks back. NW had SSSSed me on the NRT run, and the idiot BP checker didn't catch it. I alerted the TSA guy next to the puffer, and he said, "good catch, that saved you a lot of trouble." What a bunch of morons! Sorry to hear that you lost a day's vacation due to this nonsense.
