Everyone "in the know" uses terminal 1 because the security lines are always shorter, even factoring in the walk to terminal 2 (which in many cases is unnecessary as certain SWA flights always leave from terminal 1).

There may indeed be monitors in the walkway between the terminals, but they were not clearly visible to me from T-1. I suspect the reason that there are no SWA monitors is that the first few gates are used by competiting airlines, but that is no excuse.
