I was flying to YOW via YUL last night. I wasn't able to book the 7:30pm flight to Ottawa since it was sold out. Instead I booked the 8:30. When I arrived at YUL on my connecting flight I called the conceirge to see if they could get me a seat on the 7:30pm flight. She put me on hold for awhile and then came back and said she could put me on but it would be a $100 change fee. I find this very strange since every week I usually take an earlier YUL-YYZ flight and about 20% of the time I pay the $50 change fee. I'm always on a T+ fare class on these routes.

What I ended up doing is talking to the gate agent at the connecting baggage counter and she put me on the standby list but said with SE status I'd be on it no worries and no charges.

What is the policy here? Is it a $50 change fee or did A/C change this as of last week to a $100 change fee?
