I am wondering the likelihood of K class fares coming up for january dates LAX - SYD.

I have booked flights with Travelplan to go skiing in Colorado.Their fares are in K class but there are just no seats available at that level available for the return US to Sydney anytime late in january ( and i have to leave before 1 february as the SWUs expire .

I want to upgrade my wife and myself with SWUs so do not want to wait for ever for that fare basis to become available .

There are "W" class seats available but these are more expensive.

Looking at the United website, on Thursday Jan 31, 2008, there are "9" s in all the fare buckets except K,L and G (zero in each) .

I get the impression that the agent is going to try to get UA to release K seats but am unsure if this is likely or whether this happens often or not .

Should I just hold on or go for the higher priced W seats . There are currently 9 'I" seats listed in Seatcounter for that date.
