It does make a huge difference, if you're sat in row 1, particularly when either (i) it's a short hop to AMS (as you'll be served your meal only in the descent somewhere over Rotterdam) of (ii) there are meal options and the rubbish passengers in row 7-10 get first choice, and those at the front get left with prune and garlic casserole.
