yesterday, I was flying to DUS.
I was out in C and back in Y, but noticed I could upgrade Y -> C online for £24. So I did.
Then, OLCI wouldn't work and BA.con said BA need more ticket details. Rang BA twice and they re-validated the ticket but said that it was under airport contol (a lie) and this wouldn't last longer than 1 hour (actually the aiport never released my booking, hahahahaha).
So, went to the airport nice and early to avoid the T1 scrum. The SSCI machines refused to check me in, queued up in the slow bag drop line (at this moment there was no queue in Zone R for security). Dumb check-in agent then starts typing, I asked why my ticket didn't work and he said he didn't know and that there was nothing wrong with it anyhow. 10 mins later he is still typing and queue for zone R now past the screens. Eventually, he gets on the phone and asks ticketing to associate my e-ticket. Now, queue out zone R is almost back to the corridor and the queue for those checking in with bags is almost out there as well (as I have blocked one of the 2 staffed check in desks). Good ole BA.con and lying call centre and checkin agents have inconvenienced about 60 people and probably more by total incompetence.
So, stand in line for security for 25 mins, only 1 queue open. Man from BAA finally comes and waves at the other security machine which is open in an instant. What sort of brainless people cannot figure this out for themselves and have two lines open every morning for the rush.
After spending nearly 1 hour checking in, no time for anything other than a quick coffee in the packed and understaffed lounge before being called to gate 28.
Off I trot, and guess what, there is a second security check point and another massive queue. At this point, I just turned round, and walked off, back through the packed immigration (thank God there was no queue at IRIS), onto Park one bus and back in the car. Rang BA and told them to stuff their ticket where the sun don't shine, got a refund and went home.
£500 GBP for a CE return for this, I don't think so
