Good question! First, it's for the sake of completeness...
Now here's just one example of how you can use the codes. Say you want to find out which hotels in Washington, DC offer the Park, Stay & Go rates (IKPNF) (or any other rate in the above list, for that matter), and to compare the rates for this specific package.
When you use the standard search form, you'll get a list of hotels with rates, but they are not the Park, Stay & Go rates. For each hotel, the standard list will show the lowest and highest rates for ALL packages, so you don't really know if the hotel offers the IKPNG package, and you can't really compare. In this case, the only way to find out is to visit each hotel page individually.
However, if you use the rate code, the search will return only the rates for the specific package. Also, hotels which do not offer the package will be listed as such ("The requested rate is not available").
