I thought Connecticut was a small charming state to visit and not just a pit stop (NYC to Boston), maybe it's just a big residential suburb for NYC workers afterall...
This won't help with a Starwood hotel, but the towns of Litchfield, W Cornwall, New Preston, Woodbury, and Kent are very nice. I would stay in an inn.
I'm originally from a small town in Litchfield county and that area is most decidedly NOT a suburb for NYC commuters.
