Horrible service on WN
This past Friday, I had the misfortune of taking WN #2203 MDW-MSY. I received an email receipt from WN which included the following excerpt:
**************** INFLIGHT SERVICE *****************************
Snack Service: If your total flight itinerary includes a series
of flights that each are less than two hours in duration, you
will be served peanuts/pretzels on each flight segment. If your
itinerary includes any nonstop flight longer than two(2) hours,
you will be served a packaged snack on that flight segment.
Southwest Airlines does not serve sandwiches or meals. You may
bring something to eat on board.
The first segment of this flight was a nonstop departing Chicago Midway at 10:05am arriving Houston Hobby 12:35pm. No packaged snack was served, only a small bag of peanuts/pretzels.
Also, the flight had 3 flight attendants; the two who were assigned the first 2/3 of the cabin served several rounds of drinks, came around several times to collect trash, etc. The flight attendant who served my area came around just once to serve drinks and once to collect trash. For the next hour and a half she sat in the back of the plane reading her magazine and couldn't be bothered to assist her passengers, while the other two flight attendants were taking care of their customers in the forward 2/3 of the plane.
The 25 minute scheduled turnaround at Houston took 50 minutes. Upon departure from Houston, an announcement was made that the flight had been oversold and some people from Chicago had been pulled off the flight and it took extra time to retrieve their checked luggage. Interestingly, no announcement had been made soliciting volunteers; I would have been glad to take a later flight.
On top of all this, the flight left Chicago 1 hour late and stayed 1 hour late all the way to New Orleans.
Would it help to write Southwest Airlines?
