Good wet morning from here in Texas.
I looked on ExpertFlyer and found that all flights from DFW-ORD have zeros across the board for today. They canceled the 6am flight so that's probably the issue. I'm on the 5pm flight but would really like to get out of here a bit earlier due to potential cascading delays as the day goes on.
In your experience, what has your success rate been in similar situations of being able to grab an earlier flight as an Ex Plat?
Thanks very much.
Mike
I had a similar experience trying to get from DEN to DFW one time in bad weather. EXPs have the ability to bump someone off the flight by buying a Y fare ticket, but they must do so 24 hours in advance. AC AAngel confirmed to me that this is the case after making several phone calls to try to get me on the flight.
In the end, it took a lot of patience on the part of both AAngel and EXP desk to get me listed as standby on a flight (which I eventually made).
Go to AC and see if they can help. But there are no guarantees.
