An explanation!
Well, we knew something was up Saturday, and our first thought (after, "$%@#@! we need a hotel!) was that we needed to see Flyertalk and find out what the real deal was, because this was waaaaay out of line. My girlfriend got bumped off her flight to BWI for the 22nd, and was rescheduled to the following day. That was fixed by flying Southwest, though we recieved no compensation (no shock there). Then she was cancelled 3 times on the return leg on both the 25th and 26th on 2 days notice. Reaaaaallllly unacceptable.
Whether its the pilots or the management doesn't ultimately matter from our perspective. Nothing was adequately done to help out those stranded from the airline, and after getting hosed with no recourse (we had a fun time trying to find an agent on the 25th), my girlfriend and her elite status were damn near stuck again with no compensation. Its pretty disgusting all the way around, and the only reasonable thing we can think of is to have me fly through Detroit on SWA until something improves. I'm not holding my breath.
