Travelators weren't a great example to illustrate my point, and I agree - there's no excuse for the ones at LHR not working as often as they do.. although the fact still remains that LHR, with it's scattered terminals and ad-hoc expansion, will always seriously struggle to emulate the slick, joined-up airport experience you'll find in other newer airports.
