Plus, with the remaining pilots on furlough, if they knew they were going to need pilots, why not bring them back (give me a logical reason other than "Dougie's so stupid, management sucks, they shouldn't get paid! etc...). And "seasonal worsening of the weather"? Please, they face that every year and in all seasons (remember the 2-3 horrible snowstorms this past winter?). Plus, that's why they have pilots on reserve, and it's never been a problem until now. And now, all of a sudden, it's not just a problem, but a HUGE one. All of this leads me to believe that something unexpected came up that crew scheduling couldn't anticipate.
As previously noted, all furloughed pilots have been recalled.

The current issues are a result of a summer schedule with a large increase in international flying, poor weather and a general shortage of pilots (including lower reserve levels). It should be noted that schedules and staffing levels are completely solely the responsibility of managment.

Then I guess you have little basis to your claim that the cancellations are because pilots aren't showing up for work (as opposed to other factors).
