Just wanted to report back for the benefit of future travellers. I decided on the RC and did not regret the choice, in fact found it a wonderful hotel. The staff are excellent (although not quite as sophisticated as their 'neighbours' in SIN), and the rooms very large and well appointed with massive LCD screens and beautiful bathrooms with Bvlgari amenities. The club checkin and checkout were seamless and the food presentations excellent (b'fast was a bit small, as usual in club lounges it seems). Champagne served (not on display but they'll happily get it for you) was Moet.

On entering the room I found a large plate with chocolates and a varied fruit platter (not like the rather boring selections you often get). At night the turndown service left behind a small tension-relieving cream - nice touch.

The pool is nice and the spa facilities excellent (and massages cheap!).

Had I not stayed in a club room, I am not sure I would have enjoyed it quite so much. The lobby was busy with weddings and people milling about. But this applies equally to other hotels.

All in all, VERY impressed, especially considering the rate ($160).
