Not good enough? You want them to pay you for YOUR carelessness?
The only thing they didn't do, that they might have done, was to call the gate the plane was going to.
However, If your name was on the item, and IF someone found it while it was enroute to Montreal, and IF they turned it in, then it wouldn't matter if you called the gate or not. Surely you didn't expect the airline to give you the contact information for another passenger, or did you?
I don't see anything they did wrong.
