Midtown is directly accessible by underground tunnel from both the Oedo and Hibiya lines, unlike Roppongi hills which is more challenging to reach from the Oedo line (but OK from Hibiya line).

I agree.

Unsurpisingly, there are a number of restaurants and bars. A few kinks here -- one place called the "New York Deli," which was serving NOTHING like New York Deli food,

I went there the first day and the staff turned away as soon as they saw me. I assumed that they were tired of fighting non Japanese customers who were asking for corned beef sandwiches. By the way, I heard that David's deli has them.

had takeout meals for sale. Right next door was a restaurant called the "food court" with a zillion empty tables. When I asked the Deli clerk where I could eat my takeout meal, he indicated that I could NOT use the food court or even the Deli's tables.

So I gave back my Deli takeout meal

Good for you. I would'nt put up with that either.

Finally, I accidentally wondered into a 24 hour upscale grocery store located in the basement of the complex, clearly setting out to compete with nearby Meidi-ya (or whatever it is called).

They have been fine tuning this grocery store (I live across the street). The prepared food is good. They are priced a bit lower than Meidi-ya. I love National.

The entire area is pretty easy to navigate, unlike some other....ahem!.

I agree. The other place is made for lemmings.

I went to the Indian Buffet at 1:30 on a weekday. The line out the door had about 30 people. Someone told me that the Buffet is 2,000 yen. I will try it in a few weeks.
